Viola
Born and grown up in Styria/Austria, Ingeburg Weingerl Bergbaur received her first musical lessons for violin and recorder at the Music school in Kapfenberg and Bruck an der Murat the age of five years.
After the final exam at the secondary school she began her viola studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz in the classes of Matthias Maurer and Herbert Kefer.
After successfully passing the first level of musical examination in Graz she continued her studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna in the classes of Siegfried Führlinger and Ilse Windsor and concluded them with the second examination of states.
She also attended masterclasses with famous soloists, for example with Tabea Zimmermann and Erich Höbarth.
Ingeburg played many solo performances for example at the Grafenegger Schloßkonzerte or the Ignaz Pleyel festival and is also highly active as a chamber musician with concerts in Austria, France, Italy, Faeroe Islands, Germany and Spain.
She is also highly interested in contemporary music (for instance with the Musikfabrik Süd), as well as in original-sound- playing on Baroque instruments but also in authentic styrian folkmusic.
Since 1998 she is a teacher at the Musikschule in Fehring for violin, viola and string ensemble and since 2002 the principal violist at the Großes Orchester Graz- Recreation.
