Michaela Gaczynska

Soprano

Michaela, a Slovakian Soprano began her vocal training at the Conservatory in Bratislava and continued her studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz, where she completed her master’s degree in voice with Honors. She also successfully earned a bachelor’s degree in “Instrumental and Vocal Pedagogy.”

She has participated in masterclasses with renowned artists such as Barbara Bonney, Bo Skovhus, Vladimir Chernov, Angelika Kirchschlager, Zlatica Livorová, and Michele Crider. As a scholarship recipient of the American Institute of Musical Studies in Graz, she gained valuable artistic insights and was a finalist in the International Dvořák Singing Competition.

She made her stage debut in productions at the Graz University of Music and Performing Arts, performing as Dorabella (Così fan tutte), Hänsel (Hänsel und Gretel), Second Lady (The Magic Flute), Adschib (L’upupa), Ciesca (Gianni Schicchi), Fidalma (Il matrimonio segreto), and Concepción (L’heure espagnole). Most recently, she expanded her repertoire to include the roles of Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni) and Papagena (The Magic Flute). At the Graz Music Society, she impressed audiences with two Rossini operas, performing as Marianne (Il signor Bruschino) and Lucilla (La scala di seta).

Guest engagements took her back to her homeland, where she made her debut as Fenena in Verdi’s Nabucco at the State Theatre in Banská Bystrica. During the 2014/15 season, she appeared at the Graz Opera as Krista Krakel in Der satanarchäolügenialkohöllische Wunschpunsch.

In addition to her operatic career, Michaela is passionately dedicated to the chanson genre.

Since 2017, she has been working as a vocal coach for the Grazer Kapellknaben boys’ choir and since 2025, Michaela is a Music teacher at the Lieboch Music School.
