Volker Zach

Violin

Volker Zach was born in 1972 in Bruck an der Mur.

He studied violin with Prof. Klaus Eichholz concluding with a concert diploma (with distinction) at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz. During his studies he attended master classes with Igor Ozim and René Staar.

Between 1994 and 2002 he was a member of the Graz Symphonic Orchestra, since 2002 he has been a founding member of the orchestra “recreation – Large Orchestra Graz” and a member of the Bad Ischl Spa- and Operetta Orchestra.

At the same time, Volker Zach performs as a soloist and chamber musician in Austria and abroad; he is the leader of the Zach String Quartet, member of the Girardi-Ensemble since 2003 and member of the “Quartetto Ornando” string quartet since 2010. In his artistic work he has collaborated with many outstanding musicians, including Paul Gulda, Christian Muthspiel and the groups Opus and Oregon.
