Alexander Stock

Violin

Alexander Stock is a member of the Graz Philharmonic. Born in Graz, he was admitted to the gifted class of the University of Music and Performing Arts in his hometown at the age of seven, and then studied under Prof. Klaus Eichholz and Prof. Yaïr Kless. 
Just two years before graduating in violin studies, he was engaged in 2000 as a second violinist at the Graz Opera House. Already in 2001 he joined the group of the first violins, of which he is the leader since 2006. In 2004 he completed his instrumental and vocal pedagogy studies with honors and is teaching since 2003 at the Music School in Köflach. He was a prize winner of Jugend musiziert and participant of numerous summer courses. He gained orchestral experience at the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra and at the Academy of the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra. 
Concert tours took him to home and abroad including Switzerland, Germany, Italy, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Bosnia, Spain, Japan, Korea, India, Malaysia and Philippines.
