Oliver Biber

Viola

Oliver Biber was born in Vienna in 1976. He started to play the violin at the age of five and became in 1990 one of Eugenia Polatscheks first disciples. In 1992 he continued his studies at the University of Music in Vienna in the class of the famous Vienna Philharmonic concertmaster, Gerhard Hetzel. Later he studied with Johannes Meissl (Artis Quartett) and Josef Hell (Section Leader of the Vienna Philharmonic) until the first diploma. In 1999 he switched to the Viola and studied with Hans-Peter Ochsenhofer. Since 2001 he is a member of the Grazer Philharmonic Orchestra. Invitations by the Vienna Philharmonic music academies and the Schleswig-Holstein-Musikfestival took him around the globe. As a member of the Mozartisten Wien and the Aurea Quartett Graz he played many concerts. Since 2001 he regularly plays chamber music with his colleagues of the Graz Philharmonic orchestra.
